Presbyopia LASIK

Presbyopia is the need to wear eyeglasses for reading after
the age of 40. We first adjust to this by placing objects
farther from us, stretching our arm to read text messages,
simple documents, or the menu in a restaurant. We later
notice eyestrain with our computers, and deskwork becomes
difficult. The purchase of several sets of eyeglasses to
be placed in strategic positions over time does not eliminate
the hassle, cost and embarrassment which midlife brings.
The treatment for presbyopia has been researched for over
twenty years. Many modalities were developed, but the most
satisfactory is through Lasik Customvue by VISX. It is U.S.
FDA approved, and has been released for world use (2005).
Makati Eye Laser Center, a pioneer in laser vision correction
in the Philippines, is one among the few centers in Asia
with this procedure.
